# Authoring A Personal Constitution

_Rahim reads the principles he wrote down for himself in 2007, and asks you to write your own._

**The question:** What in the heck is a personal constitution?

Listen: https://traffic.libsyn.com/secure/rahimrasul/005HTT_-_Personal_Constitution.mp3?dest-id=175061

## Before you listen

A personal constitution is a manifesto toward yourself, for yourself: the principles you live by and the ideals you set down, consciously, for who you want to be and how you want to approach the world. Like a nation's constitution, it is a living body. You can add to it and amend it as life teaches you.

In this early episode I read from the one I wrote in 2007. Some of its lines are about patience: there is no rush to the finish line, and we will never miss our boat, because there is always another boat on its way. Others are about the hard days: resistance and stress represent areas of opportunity for growth and expansion.

Listen for the challenge at the close. Write your own, covering how you deal with other people and how you deal with yourself, so that when you get in a funk and don't know which way to turn, you have something to turn to.

## Transcript

Welcome to episode number five. Today we're gonna be talking about our personal constitution. I know you're going to be asking yourself, “What in the heck is a personal constitution?”

Well, I call it personal constitution. But what it really?

**It is our manifesto towards ourselves for ourselves, the principles that we live by the ideals that we set forth, consciously, for who we really want to be and how we want to approach the world.**

Similar to our nation's constitution, my personal Constitution is a living body, it can be amended. I can add things to it. And then I can modify based upon my life experience of what my life experience has taught me.

In today's episode, I'm going to share some of the points in my personal constitution that has helped me approach this world with the tenacity and ferocity to become who I am now and will be in the future.

I'm gonna go ahead and start reading a couple of them.

1. Be more mindful of self than of others. Seeking approval or seeking a specific behavior from others should not allow us to become sideways of our personal balance. 2. As wise as we may be or hope to become, we must not use those ideal standards to evaluate where we are in any given moment. Our now moment, has a range of options we have access based upon our emotional set point and making a choice that brings into more harmony with who we are is the best we can do. 3. Make seeking joy a priority. 4. If there is any work or action recommending in order to bring about a change let it be seeking alignment. Alignment is our true work. 5. Look into life for things that feels good. 6.

Acknowledge each persons individual birth-right to create whatever they want. What they create need not affect any others apple cart; no matter how much apart from our value system it may seem. 7. Time does not have to be a factor. What we desire will show its face as soon as we line up our energy. There is no rush to get to the finish line because everything is unfolding in its own correct time. We will never miss our boat because there is always another boat on its way. Everything in its own time. I want it as I become ready to receive it. 8. Resistance and stress are not signs of shortcoming. They represent areas of opportunities for growth and expansion. 9. As we bring ourselves into a state of expectation it is only a matter of time before it shows its face.

As we sync up with the pure state of faith it is an inevitable reality whats to come. 10. HOW FACTOR is not my job. I’ll let the universe orchestrate the circumstances. Become a visionary as opposed to a detail oriented actionary. 11. Participate with the action of life for the joy it brings as opposed to doing the action and looking for results. 12. The physical evidence is only an indication of the thoughts that have led up to this point. The future is a new open virgin frontier containing no details. The future will be determined as a result of the vibrational offerings of today forward. 13. Insight, wisdom, resources and energy comes from within as a result of focusing energies. Each consciousness is connected and can communicate openly, therefore we have absolute communication with infinite intelligence. Our personal genius can flourish with passion and focus.

*Insight, wisdom, resources and energy come from within us when we focus and channel our energies. We can access the infinite intelligence by connecting to our consciousness and being open to communication with it. By tapping into our personal genius with passion and focus, we can unlock the potential within us and allow our inner wisdom to flourish. This inner guidance can be a powerful source of knowledge and strength, allowing us to achieve great things.*

Yeah, that's it. You I'm not asking you to agree with my perspectives or my ideas. But one thing I want you to do is challenge yourself to write your own personal manifesto. How you deal with confrontation, how you deal with other people how you do with yourself. Because this document has gotten me through some tough times, and I'm sure if you put a document in place that when you get in a funk or you get in a bad mood, you don't know which way to turn turning yourself. Good luck and writing your personal constitutions.
